Hyundai Veloster Turbo clutch install video

In this video we dive into a clutch install on a 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. This car had a failed dual mass flywheel which resulted in the clutch disc to fail prematurely. We installed a Kdm Tuners clutch kit which includes a Aasco 10.8lbs flywheel. In this case a full face ceramic/kevlar sprung clutch disc for a great bite and long life.

The great thing about these kits are you will never need to replace a flyhweel again, you simply replace the friction plate which cost about $75. The oem dual mass flywheels are not meant to be serviced and should be replaced every clutch job. These suckers are pricey at around $800-1000 USD, which is about the cost of the whole KdmTuners kit! As you will see in the video the dual mass has springs which tend to weaken and often fail..

All in all this install took about 7 hours to do which included extra time to film. We typically drop a tranny in a bout 1.5-2 hours and full job in 4-5 hours. You can get this done with some pretty basic tools such as:

  • Jack
  • Jack stands
  • Ratchets
  • Needle nose pliers
  • 8,10,12,14,19,32mm sockets
  • Long flathead screw driver
  • mallet
  • 17,19mm wrench
  • breaker bar
