EBC Racing 2023 Toyota Corolla GR RP-1 Race Front Brake Pads

EBC Racing’s RP‑1 compound is an ultra‑high performance track and race pad designed for high performance vehicles driven hard on track. Designed for vehicles driven hard on track, RP-1 possesses a moderately high friction level of 0.45 between 100 – 750°C. The more progressive response characteristic of RP-1 makes it well suited for inherently ‘over-servoed’ vehicles where a softer pad material is desirable to allow greater finesse when on the brakes. The RP-1 pads provide superb modulation giving unprecedented control and feel, come thermally-bedded, eliminating “early life” fade and have an extremely low wear rate making them a true “plug and play” track pad.

 

RP-1 vs. RPX Brake Pads:

“Since both RP-1™ and RP-X™ have a flat friction response coupled with near identical fade resistance, it isn’t a case of one material being ‘better’ than the other. It’s more a case of the driver choosing what ‘feels best’ in their own opinion, whilst also factoring in any other modifications made to their vehicles brake system as explained above. That’s why EBC Racing offer both of these distinctly different materials, to give the customer choice to find what works for them.” – EBC Brakes

In other words, they’re near-identically performing track pads yet deliver different pedal feels depending on driver preference.

• RP-X pads suited for soft or under assisted brakes, delivering firm and immediate bite. These are ideal for hard-edged drivers who wish to keep pedal travel within an appropriate range and still have sufficient bite and braking performance while still maintaining a degree of ease in brake modulation.
• RP-1 pads are suited for drivers who wish to maintain a progressive brake pedal feel for smoother, easier modulation, more so than RP-X, or are looking to lessen any grabbiness in overly aggressive brake setups that are notoriously difficult to modulate. These pads will provide smoother and more consistent braking actuation throughout the pedal travel vs an RP-X or similar pads.
